I worked at Charisma Media for almost six years, first as a copy editor, then as an online editor and, later on, as the online news director. While overseeing the company’s online magazines, I helped increase website page views by hundreds of thousands per month.
When the company launched the Charisma News podcast in 2015, I was excited to be its first host, and I continued hosting the daily news show for five years.
During my time at Charisma, I wrote hundreds of articles for the company’s charismatic/Pentecostal readers. I reported on a variety of topics involving the body of Christ in the U.S. and around the world, including breaking news, upcoming ministries, ministry trends, and unprecedented revivals.

Print Magazine Features
Whenever I could squeeze in a print feature among all my online work, I was excited to do so! Here are a couple of the articles I’ve written for Charisma Media’s print magazines.
Pastor’s Simple Obedience Sparks Revival Among Mexico’s Assassins
This article was the cover feature for the April 2020 issue of Charisma.
This was one of my favorite articles to write for Charisma‘s print magazine.
I interviewed Pastor Poncho Murguia, a Mexican minister who helped bring revival to the hardened city of Juarez, which used to be ranked the most violent city in the world.
I did extensive research of the area where Murguia ministered as well as interviewed a fellow pastor who worked alongside Murguia and a former sicario that Murguia led to the Lord.
My experience with the Spanish language came in handy in this piece as I conducted the final two interviews in Spanish and then translated the answers into English. (P.S. Finding an autotranscriber that works in Spanish proved pretty difficult… A little hint to any autotranscribing companies reading this.)
The hard work paid off, though. The final result yielded a 5,000-word feature telling the story of how God transformed the city of Juarez—and it all started with one pastor who decided to fast and pray in a park for 21 days.
